At a symposium dedicated to the 25-years anniversary of Natuur- en Recreatieschap Haringvliet, LOLA landscape architects presented nine designs for recreational areas around the Haringvliet.

The Haringvliet is one of the Netherlands largest estuary. While it has qualities as its mere size, the omni-present wind, the historical towns and fortresses, the general quality of the recreational areas doesn't live up to that of similar areas in the Netherlands.

In LOLA's proposal nine of these areas have been given a make-over. Together they are a means to guaranty visitors of the Haringvliet high quality and freedom of choice, a maximum freedom of movement, the possibility of sublime encounters between men and nature, and the implementation of sustainable design.
